NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two Vanderbilt women’s golfers, Kathryn Ha and Elizabeth Rudisill, will tee off at the U.S. Women’s Amateur at The Honors Course in Ooltewah. Play begins Tuesday and continues through the weekend at the 6,539-yard, par-72 course.
The pair of Commodores will tee off together in Tuesday’s opening round at 8:25 a.m. ET off the first tee. Rudisill qualified by winning the Carolinas Golf Association Amateur Championship earlier this summer while Ha made her way to The Honors Course via her performance in the Black Creek Club qualifier in July.
“We are really pumped for Rudy and Kathryn, and the opportunity that’s in front of them this week,” head coach Greg Allen said. “In my opinion, there are two amateur tournaments, outside of our college events, that our girls want to play in - the ANWA and the US Women’s Am. Rudy will have a checkmark next to both of them this year.
“Kathryn got hot at SECs back in April and her run of good golf has continued all summer. The Honors Course is a great test of golf, but I know these two will be up for the challenge.”
The U.S. Women’s Am features two rounds of stroke play before the field is cut to 64. Match play begins on Thursday and continues through the championship match on Sunday.
Golf Channel will carry the action beginning with the Round of 64 on Thursday.
