NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s golf alumna Auston Kim clinched her spot on the Team USA roster for the 2026 Solheim Cup over the weekend. The former Commodore will be an automatic qualifier as she currently sits fourth in the U.S. qualification standings.

Kim will be part of the U.S. squad which battles Europe Sept. 11-13 at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands. The selection marks her first appearance on the Solheim Cup squad. Kim is the second Commodore to represent the U.S. at the Cup, joining Marina Alex in 2019.

Kim, who is in her third year on the LPGA Tour, becomes the 70th American to ever compete in the Solheim Cup. She joins Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho and Yealimi Noh who will also compete for Team USA. Two additional players from the LPGA points list and two from the Rolex Rankings will also join Team USA along with three captain’s picks. Six-time Solheim Cup participant Angela Stanford is captaining the American squad in 2026.

The Solheim Cup features three days of matches between the 12-member U.S. and Europe teams. The format consists of four foursomes and four fourball matches on both Friday and Saturday with 12 singles matches on Sunday. Each match is worth one point with 14.5 points needed to win the Cup and 14 needed to retain it.

Team USA captured the Cup in 2024 with a 15.5-12.5 victory. The U.S. leads the Solheim Cup 11-7-1 all-time.
