CARLSBAD, Calif. – Vanderbilt men’s golf senior Wells Williams earned pro status through PGA TOUR University at the end of stroke play at the 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, as he finished No. 10 in the PGA TOUR University rankings to gain his Korn Ferry Tour card.

Williams earns a full exemption into the Korn Ferry Tour for the remainder of the 2026 season. The West Point, Mississippi, native also earns an exemption into the Final Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry. He will join former Dores Will Gordon, Theo Humphrey, Luke List, Matthew Riedel, Cole Sherwood and Jackson Van Paris on the Korn Ferry Tour. Williams becomes the fifth Vanderbilt golfer to earn pro status through PGA TOUR U since 2024.

The senior led the Commodores in a scoring average this season at 70.16 through 37 rounds of play. During his final year with Vanderbilt, he finished under par in 24 rounds and posted seven top-10 finishes in 2025-26. Earlier this season, the All-American was named to the NCAA Division I PING All-Southeast Region team from the Golf Coaches of America Association for the second-straight season and was named All-SEC first team.

Williams was a 2025 NCAA Division I PING All-American honorable mention selection and was twice named to the NCAA Division I PING All-Southeast team. He was a two-time All-SEC selection, earning second-team honors as a junior in 2024-25 before being selected to the first team as a senior. Additionally, Williams was a spring finalist for the 2026 Fred Haskins Award.

His three collegiate victories are tied for fourth-most in school history with Brandt Snedeker (2000-03), Matthias Schwab, and Cole Sherwood. Williams’ career scoring average of 70.83 is the fifth-lowest in program history. He ends his Vanderbilt career having his score count in 71 of his final 73 rounds dating back to his sophomore season. Williams had a streak of 56 consecutive rounds scored that ran from his sophomore to senior campaigns.

Williams made his pro debut at the 124th U.S. Open. Additionally, Williams played at the 2026 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic on the PGA TOUR last month.
