NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After receiving Academic All-District recognition in May, senior Bridget Stammel added another academic honor as a 2025-26 first-team Academic All-American, announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
It is Stammel's first selection to the CSC Academic All-America team after back-to-back years on the Academic All-District list. She finished the year with a 3.80 GPA, graduating from Vanderbilt as a double major with a degree in Medicine, Health & Society and Economics. Duke's Irina Balus, North Carolina's Reese Brantmeier, Cal's Berta Passola Folch, NC State's Mia Slama and Virginia's Annabelle Xu make up the remainder of the first-team list.
Stammel posted 21-7 singles record in her final season as a Commodore, leading the team in dual match wins. She went 9-5 in singles play against SEC opponents. Stammel also led the team with eight ranked wins throughout dual match play. The Dallas, Texas native achieved career-high rankings in both singles and doubles, reaching No. 6 in the ITA singles list while climbing as high as No. 10 in doubles alongside junior Valeria Ray. The pair generated a 20-5 mark together in dual matches. Stammel was named as a first-team All-SEC selection in April.
