EUGENE, Ore. — Vanderbilt track and field’s Marta Sivina closes out day one of heptathlon events after setting two personal bests on Friday at Hayward Field.
Sivina notched the event’s fourth-fastest time of 13.55 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, shaving off her previous wind-legal time of 13.57 to remain the seventh-fastest in the program record books and start off with 1043 points. In the high jump event, she finished with a 1.66-meter mark to score 806 points.
Following the rest of the afternoon, Sivina finished with a shot put mark of 11.67 meters to add 639 points to her day’s total. To close out the day, Sivina posted a personal best 24.46 seconds in the 200-meters to earn 937 points to a total of 3,425 points to close out the day in 15th place.
Sivina will compete in the final three events of the long jump beginning at 4:30 p.m. CT, followed by the javelin at 5:45 p.m. and the 800-meter race at 8:43 p.m. Live results are available through Flash Results.
