CARLSBAD, Calif. –Vanderbilt men’s golfers Wells Williams and Jon Ed Steed were selected to the NCAA Division I PING All-Southeast Region team, as announced on Saturday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
It is Williams’ second-straight NCAA Division I PING All-Southeast Region selection, while it is Steed’s first all-region honor from the GCAA. It is the second postseason honor for the Commodore duo this month, as Williams was named to the All-SEC first team and Steed was selected to the All-SEC freshman team on May 7.
Williams becomes the 13th Commodore in program history to earn multiple selections to the NCAA Division I PING All-Southeast Region team. The senior has enjoyed a spectacular 2025-26 campaign, leading the Commodores in stroke average at 70.03 entering the 2026 NCAA Championships. Williams has posted seven top-10 finishes this season and placed inside the top three in one tournament, while his score has counted in 31 of the 33 rounds he has played in. The West Point, Mississippi, native is currently No. 10 in the PGA TOUR University rankings and is No. 12 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Steed is the 16th Vanderbilt men’s golfer overall to earn NCAA Division I PING All-Southeast Region honors, and the first freshman since Gordon Sargent in 2021-22. The Enterprise, Alabama, native holds a scoring average of 70.88 through 33 rounds heading into the NCAA Championship. Steed has placed inside the top-10 three times this season and posted a career-best fourth-place finish at The Linger Longer Invitational. He has carded under par in 19 rounds and had his score count in 27 rounds. He carded a career-low 9-under 204 at the 2026 NCAA Athens Regional, where he placed seventh. Additionally, Steed was named SEC Freshman of the Week three times during his rookie campaign.
