NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s tennis returns to the road this weekend to wrap up the month with a single-match at Kentucky Friday.
The Commodores go into the contest with a 9-6 record and are 1-5 in SEC play while the Wildcats are 12-7 overall but are in search of their first league win heading into the weekend.
Debriefing
Last weekend the Dores lost two tightly contested road matches at Texas A&M and LSU. Most recently in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it came down to a third set on the final court but the Tigers ultimately took it, 4-3, as the Dores fell to 9-6 on the season.
Scouting Report
Kentucky is ranked 67th nationally coming into the weekend contest. The Wildcat duo of Carlota Molina and Elizabeth Stevens rank 56th nationally and own a 7-2 record together this season on the doubles courts.
ITA Rankings
- The Commodores rank 47th nationally in the latest Tennis-Point ITA rankings.
- With a 12-7 record on the top court, Anna Ross ranks 57th nationally in singles while Anessa Lee ranks 72nd.
- Ross and doubles partner Holly Staff are ranked 76th nationally, entering the rankings for the first time as a team on March 23.
On the Radar
The Commodores will host South Carolina, April 1, and Florida, April 8, in their return to the Currey Tennis Center following two weeks on the road.
