Irish Next Foe for Commodores

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt faces its first ranked opponent of the season as it travels to take on No. 12 Notre Dame on Wednesday at 4 p.m. CT at the Loftus Center.  
 
The Commodores (7-1) are fresh off a week that saw them average 18 goals in two games for two dominant victories. Notre Dame (8-0) faces Vanderbilt after upsetting No. 5 Virginia, 10-9, last Saturday.
 
Vanderbilt is off to its best start in program history and is one win away from matching last season’s win total.
 
The Commodores continue to be ranked nationally in several statistical categories this season. Vanderbilt currently ranks fourth in the nation in assists/game (9.13) and sixth in points/game (25.13) as part of the country’s eighth-ranked offense (16.00 goals/game).
 
Meanwhile, Vanderbilt’s defense caused 14.00 turnovers/game, third-most in the country, behind sophomore Melissa Hawkins (2.38 caused turnovers/game).
