Mariella Fasoula led the way with 21 points as the Vanderbilt women's basketball team fell at Kansas State, 72-61, Sunday afternoon in Bramlage Coliseum.

First Quarter: K-State 21, Vanderbilt 14

-Kansas State scored five unanswered to open the second quarter, extending its lead to 26-14.
-The Wildcats went on a 7-0 run over the final 3:33 of the quarter to take a 17-point advantage going into the half.
 
Third Quarter: Kansas State 58, Vanderbilt 36
-Vanderbilt scored the first four out of the locker room on layups from Fasoula and Brinae Alexander.
-The Wildcats went on a 10-3 run in the middle of the quarter to extend its lead, 58-34.
-The Commodores shot just 24 percent from the field in the third quarter.
 
Fourth Quarter: Kansas State 72, Vanderbilt 61
-K-State notched the first points of the half, but Vanderbilt responded with a 12-2 run that lasted until the 3:38 mark.
-The Wildcats did just enough to stay out in front over the final minutes, setting the final score, 72-61.
 
Inside the Lane
-Kansas State moves to 2-1 in the series, while improving to 5-2 on the season as Vanderbilt falls to 3-5.
-Fasoula collected her third double-digit game in a row with 21.
-Walker also collected her third double-digit game in a row with 19.
-LeaLea Carter neared her career high of 12 rebounds with 11 boards on the contest.
-Vanderbilt out-rebounded the Wildcats, 36-to-28.
-The Commodores took advantage of 16 second chance points compared to K-State's 11.
-Kansas State shot 50 percent from the field while Vanderbilt was held to just 39 percent.
