How It Happened
First Quarter: UConn 20, Vanderbilt 7
The Huskies used an 11-0 run through the middle of the first quarter to take a 15 point advantage, 18-3. UConn scored eight points off of the fast break in the first and shot 64.3 percent from the field while holding Vanderbilt to just 14.3 percent.
Second Quarter: UConn 44, Vanderbilt 21
Cierra Walker buried a pair of three-pointers and Mariella Fasoula collected a layup to cut the lead to 10, 25-15, early in the second quarter. UConn responded with 13 unanswered to stretch its lead, 38-15. The Huskies netted the final four points of the half to go into the locker room with a 23-point advantage, 44-21.
Third Quarter: UConn 65, Vanderbilt 32
The Huskies opened the second half with a pair of triples from Crystal Dangerfield. After a jumper by Katie Lou Samuelson UConn took a 32-point lead, 58-26, with 3:46 to play in the third quarter. The Huskies continued to push the pace and took the momentum of a five-point run into the final stanza.
Fourth Quarter: UConn 80, Vanderbilt 42
The Huskies scored seven straight to take their largest lead of the game of 42, 78-36, in the fourth quarter. LeaLea Carter ended the run with a short jumper and Autumn Newby netted back-to-back layups to cut the lead, 78-42, but it wasn’t enough as time expired.

-Chelsie Hall collected her 24th double-digit game of her career with 12 points.
-Vanderbilt held UConn to just 28.6 percent from beyond the arc on the night.
-The Huskies shot 55.9 percent from the field while holding the Commodores to just 25.4 percent.
