Blasingame, Schiager named Academic All-District honorees

NASHVILLE – Vanderbilt running back Khari Blasingame and snapper Tommy Schiager have been named 2018 CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team honorees by members of CoSIDA, a national college sports information organization.
It marks the second consecutive season in which Blasingame has been recognized by the organization. Schiager's recognition comes during his first full season handling snapping responsibilities for the Commodores.
Blasingame, who earned his degree in medicine, health & society and is currently working towards a Master's of Education, has carried the ball 71 times for 309 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Meanwhile, Schiager, who is working towards a degree in economics, has played in every this season, serving as the team's primary snapper. He has also added three total tackles.
Both Blasingame and Schiager advance to the Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December. The All-District nominees must be significant contributors on the field and maintain at least a 3.20 grade point average.
