Junior Alexandra Farnsworth carded a first-round five-over par, 77, in her opening day of play at the NCAA Regional in Athens, Ga., at the University of Georgia Golf Course. The top three individuals not associated with the top six teams will advance to the NCAA Championship in Sugar Grove, Ill.
Farnsworth, who was one of six individuals chosen for the regional, is currently T-54 on the individual leader board.
“My short game helped me today on my worst ball-striking round of the year,” said Farnsworth. “I’m excited to get some revenge on a great golf course tomorrow.”
The second round of the Athens Regional continues on Tuesday.
