Vanderbilt Basketball Postgame Notes

Team Record and Series Notes:
-Vanderbilt leads the series 75-45
-This was head coach Bryce Drew’s first ever meeting against Ole Miss.
Team Notes:
-The loss brings the Commodores record to 11-12 overall and 4-6 in SEC play.
-Vanderbilt led 32-27 at halftime, but Ole Miss used a 54-point second half to surge into the lead and hold on to an 81-74 victory.
-Vanderbilt made 14 3-pointers as a team. It was the 10th time this season that the Commodores have made 10 or more 3’s in a game and the team now owns an 8-2 record in those games. The only other loss was to Alabama on Jan. 7.
-The Vanderbilt defense held Ole Miss to 1-11 (9%) from 3-point range in the first half, but the Rebels shot 8-11 (73%) from beyond-the-arc in the second half.
-A Luke Kornet 3-pointer brought the Commodores back within 77-74, but Ole Miss responded with a perfect 4-4 performance from the free throw line to seal the victory.
Player Notes:
-Jeff Roberson scored a career-high 21 points. His previous best was 20 points against Texas A&M last season on Feb. 4.
-Roberson was 5-6 (83%) from the floor, 3-3 (100%) from 3-point range and 8-9 (89%) from the free throw line.
-Roberson also led the Commodores with seven rebounds.
-Luke Kornet (18 points) and Matthew Fisher-Davis (13 points) also joined Roberson in double figures for the Commodores.
-Roberson has now scored 10+ points in four straight games. It was the third consecutive game in double-figures scoring for both Kornet and Fisher-Davis.
-Riley LaChance tied a season-high with seven assists. The last time he accomplished the feat was on Dec. 3 against Minnesota.
