First-year head coach Stephanie White and her team have an exciting weekend ahead.

As part of homecoming festivities on the Vanderbilt campus, the Commodores’ coaching staff and players are scheduled to have numerous events and appearances.

Among the weekend’s biggest highlights will be senior Marqu’es Webb being recognized as an honorary captain for Saturday’s football game against Tennessee State.

Another high point this weekend will be the large number of WBB alumni who are returning to campus for the program’s Alumni Weekend.

Also, the current Commodores are hosting an open practice on Saturday, and the team will be signing autographs later in the day.

Here’s a closer look at what’s happening:

SATURDAY
Noon-2 pm: Open Practice
The Vanderbilt WBB team is hosting an open practice on the main floor at Memorial Gym. Fans are welcome to come watch the Commodores as they prepare for their Nov. 11 season opener against Kennesaw State. The team also has a pair of upcoming exhibitions games against Bellarmine on Oct. 30 and Union University on Nov. 6.

5 pm: Meet the Commodores
The current Vanderbilt players will be signing autographs and posing for pictures outside the football stadium at the corner of Jess Neely/Natchez Trace.

5:10 pm: White joins Vanderbilt pregame radio show
First-year head coach Stephanie White will be a guest on the Vanderbilt Football pregame show. The show can be heard on 1510 AM, 95.9 FM and 560 AM.

6:30 pm: Webb recognized at football game
Vanderbilt senior standout Marqu’es Webb will serve as an honorary captain for the Vanderbilt football game against Tennessee State. Webb is being honored for recently being named the Chair of the SEC Leadership’s Council. Full story on her being named Chair: HERE

ALL WEEKEND: Alumni in town
The large group of Vanderbilt alumni — which includes former WNBA star Sheri Sam and recent Vanderbilt Hall of Fame inductee Cathy Bender — are having a series of events this weekend as they celebrate the homecoming festivities.
