NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For her game-winning, double overtime goal against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Hannon Eberts was named the SEC’s Freshman Player of the Week.

This is the first time in the 2016-17 season that a Commodore has earned conference honors.

The Somers, N.Y. native came through for the `Dores in the 104th minute for the game-winning goal, her third goal overall. Eberts’ goal came off a fantastic run and assist by redshirt-junior Danae O’Halloran, who powered up the field from Bulldog territory to rip a cross straight to the freshman.

After sprinting into the box herself, Eberts was ready and positioned in front of the Bulldog goal as O’Halloran served the ball into the box to seal the ‘Dores their first SEC victory of the season.

Eberts and her team prepare for two home matches this week, taking on the No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies Thursday at 7:00 pm and LSU on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
