The Vanderbilt women’s golf team will play host to the 16th annual Mason Rudolph Women’s Championship this Friday through Sunday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club’s North Course in Franklin, Tenn. The Commodores will welcome 14 other teams to compete in one of the nation’s most prestigious collegiate women’s tournaments.

“One of my favorite times of the year is the Mason weekend!,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “I love having the opportunity to show off our great golf course and our great city. And it’s always a special time to pause and celebrate the life of Mason Rudolph. Our world would be a much better place if we had more people like Mason.”

Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Chattanooga, Houston, Michigan State, Middle Tennessee, Northwestern, SMU, Troy, Tulane, UCF, and Virginia will join the Commodores for the event.

Vanderbilt senior Kate Sborov, junior Alexandra Farnsworth, sophomore Courtney Zeng, and freshmen Allison Armstrong and Abbey Carlson will compete for the Commodores, with seniors Antonia Scherer and Lauren Johnson competing as individuals.

“I’m also a excited for our team to compete at home,” said Allen. “This chance only comes around once a year and it’s a fun time for the girls to play in front of family, friends and fans. Although we are young and lack collegiate golf experience, we have a group that is full of heart and is dedicated to out-working everyone else and committed to getting one day better each morning they get out of bed. That’s a fun group to coach.”

Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with play beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday on the North Course. Admission is free.
