The calendar has flipped to August and we’re inching our way closer and closer to the fall and basketball season. VUCommodores.com is back with another quick update on the women’s basketball program.

Stat of the Week
The final stretch of the regular season has been one of the strongest parts of the year for Vanderbilt under Balcomb. After the Commodores went 6-3 over the final nine games this past season, they are now 62-23 during the final nine games over Coach Balcomb’s 10 seasons, good for a .730 winning percentage.
Stat of the Week, Part 2 – Olympic Edition
While women’s basketball hasn’t contributed to the medal count at the London Olympics yet, the SEC informed us today that if the Southeastern Conference were a nation, it would currently rank fourth in the medal count.
