Kemp is SEC co-Freshman of the Week

Nashville, Tenn, – Freshman Tony Kemp has been named the Southeastern Conference co-Freshman of the Week by the league.

Kemp was red-hot for the top-ranked Commodores last week recording a hit in all four games going 9-for-18 with seven runs scored and two RBI. Over the weekend at Auburn the Franklin, Tenn. native went 8-for-14 (.571) with five runs scored. Kemp recorded a career-best four hits in Friday night’s 11-6 win over the Tigers, including his team-best fourth triple. The outfielder again set a career-high on Saturday with three runs scored and matched a career-best with two walks on Sunday. In nine SEC games Kemp is leading the team with a .514 average (19-for-37), 11 runs and .581 on-base percentage.

Tomorrow night will be $1 Days at Hawkins Field when the Dores host Middle Tennessee State at 6 p.m. All outfield tickets purchased at the ballpark tomorrow will be $1. Freshman T.J. Pecoraro gets the ball for the Commodores against Blue Raiders’ lefty Joey McClung.
