Pecoraro notched the win tossing four scoreless innings with five strikeouts in his collegiate debut… Will Clinard picked up his second save of the year working out of a bases loaded jam and pitching two scoreless innings… Preseason All-American Sonny Gray outdueled fellow preseason All-American Mark Appel on Friday night in the series opener against eighth-ranked Stanford… Gray scattered three hits and allowed one run with six strikeouts over a season-best six innings… Curt Casali and Connor Harrell each had two hits in the win with Anthony Gomez driving in the winning run with a double… VU had to rally from two separate three-run deficits on Saturday to win the series… Freshman Conrad Gregor hit his first collegiate home run and the Commodores’ first homer of the year in the second inning, the hit was also Gregor’s first collegiate hit… Gregor drove in the go-ahead run in the third… Aaron Westlake later added his first home run of the year while going 3-for-3… Jason Esposito’s double in the capped a three-run rally and tied the game… Anthony Gomez legged out a potential inning ending double play in the eighth with the bases loaded to drive in the winning run… Navery Moore pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his second save of the weekend… Stanford hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning on Sunday and never trailed to salvage a game in the series and avoid a sweep… Grayson Garvin was pinned with the loss allowing four runs on eight hits across six innings… Conrad Gregor reached base three times and Jason Epsosito knocked in his team-best sixth run in the loss.
