BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Vanderbilt men’s golf team opens a two-event Spring Break trip on Monday when play begins at the 2010 Samford Invitational at Limestone Springs Golf Course.
Head Coach Tom Shaw’s lineup for Samford will feature senior Hudson Johnson, junior Ryan Haselden, sophomore Charlie Grace, sophomore Trey DelGreco and senior Chris Rockwell.
The event’s 14-team field features Vanderbilt, host Samford, Belmont, Birmingham-Southern, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Georgia State, Houston Baptist, Kennesaw State, Montevallo, Murray State, Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and Tennessee-Martin.
Teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT. The field returns Tuesday for a final 18-hole round, also slated to tee off at 8:30 a.m. Limestone Springs is a highly-acclaimed 7,000-yard, par-72 golf course.
With school out in Nashville all week, the team will travel down to Tallahassee, Fla., following the Samford Invitational to play in the 2010 Seminole Intercollegiate hosted by Florida State. The Commodores are the defending champions of the Seminole Intercollegiate after Haselden’s eagle on the final hole last year earned him medalist honors and propelled Vanderbilt to victory.
