Results after second round

ATHENS, Ga. – The Vanderbilt women’s golf team is in 16th place after the second round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic with a two-round total of 637 (316-321). Liebelei Lawrence is the leading Commodore scorer and is in a tie for 26th place with a score of 155 (73-82).

“We couldn’t get anything going today,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “It’s a tough golf course and the conditions were pretty difficult. But, we’ve got to keep our head up and keep moving forward. We’ve got a good team, but we’re in a slump right now. We’ve got to keep trying to make shots, and hopefully the putts will start dropping for us.”

Lawrence posted a second-round 82 after ending the first day with a 73, which was good for fourth place in the individual race heading into today’s round. She is now in a tie for 26th place with a two-round total of 155. Sophomore Brooke Goodwin posted the best round of the day for the Commodores with a second-day 77 and is tied for 56th place with a 159 (82-77). Amber Lundskog played as an individual and has a two-round total of 172 (89-83, T-91).
