NASHVILLE — No. 1 Vanderbilt rapped out 17 hits in a 13-5 win over Florida Sunday afternoon at Hawkins Field.

The victory completed the sweep for the Commodores who improved to 39-8 overall and 15-6 in the SEC, while the Gators dropped to 23-23 and 10-11 in league action.

The VU hitting attack produced double digits in runs for the fourth consecutive contest, a first during Tim Corbin’s tenure in Nashville. Five different ‘Dores drove in at least one run, led by two apiece from Dominic de la Osa, Pedro Alvarez, Ryan Flaherty, Ryan Davis and Alex Feinberg.

Starting pitcher Cody Crowell picked up his second win of the season, allowing four runs, three earned, on nine hits while striking out a career-high 11 in 6.2 innings of work.

The Commodores will hit the road next weekend for a three game series against Georgia starting at 5 p.m. CT Friday night in Athens, Ga.
