Vanderbilt Welcomes South Carolina Wednesday 1/18/2006 Vanderbilt plays host to South Carolina Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT. The game will not be televised. The Commodores dropped a 78-66 decision at Arkansas Saturday. Shan Foster led Vanderbilt in scoring for the seventh consecutive game, netting 22 points. Derrick Byars poured in 17 points and handed out a team-high six assists. Alex Gordon contributed 11 points and Julian Terrell added 10 points. South Carolina suffered a tough 64-61 overtime loss to Georgia at home on Saturday. Levi Stukes hit a 3-pointer as time expired to give the Bulldogs the victory. Renaldo Balkman led the Gamecocks with 14 points. Dwayne Day added 12 points and six rebounds. South Carolina leads the all-time series 20-16. Vanderbilt has a slight 9-8 lead in Nashville. The Commodores won last year’s meeting at Memorial Gymnasium, 75-65, on March 2. |
