June Stewart Invitational

The June Stewart Invitational, Vanderbilt women’s tennis’ Fall tournament, began today the the Brownlee O. Currey Tennis center.
After some rain overnight, play began inside with the first of two doubles sessions on the day. The doubles’ draw, The Clyde McCamble Scramble, is a round robin in which three pairs from each team play a team from each other school.

TOURNAMENT NOTES: Ksenia Tokarieva of Ole Miss withdrew form the singles draw. She will be replaced in the Marshall Summar Singles Draw by Vanderbilt’s Courtney Ulery. Ulery’s spot in the Alex Kwak Distinguished Alumnus Draw will now be filled by VU’s Carolina Ferrell. Jessica Leitch of Arizona State will take Ferrell’s spot in The Sara Shaut Draw. Leitch is still competing in the Kwak Draw, as originally scheduled.
Vanderbilt won its three matches in the first session of doubles play Firday morning, while Richmond and Ole Miss split their two matches.
