Bobby Johnson Slated to Be Guest Speaker at Nashville Sports Council Kickoff Luncheon July 26 7/13/2005 Nashville, Tenn. – Vanderbilt Head Coach Bobby Johnson is scheduled to speak July 26 at the Nashville Sports Council’s College Football Kickoff Luncheon. Johnson, entering his fourth year directing the Vanderbilt football program, will be speaking to the organization at the luncheon for the first time. The Comcast Sports Speaker Series event is scheduled 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. CT, at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Nashville. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Johnson will be joined by Tennessee Head Coach Phillip Fulmer as featured guest speakers at the event. Like his cross-state counterpart, Johnson will discuss his squad’s 2005 prospects as preseason camp looms. The Commodores are expected to report for preseason camp on Sunday, August 7, with practices starting August 8. “I’m very pleased that the Nashville Sports Council has given me an opportunity to talk about the 2005 Commodores,” Johnson said. “I’m excited about what this group has accomplished through our offseason conditioning effort, and excited about the upcoming season. This is a great opportunity to talk about our team and spread my enthusiam.” Non-Sports Council members can attend the luncheon for $30. The event is free to Sports Council MVP members and $20 to Sports Council All-State and Fan members.
