Nesmith Named Second-Team All-SEC

Sophomore averaged 11.0 points and 5.5 rebounds a season ago

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt sophomore Aaron Nesmith was named to the preseason All-SEC second team by the league’s coaches on Monday in an announcement made by the league office.

Nesmith played in all 32 games and made 19 starts as a true freshman in 2018-19, and averaged 11.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He led the Commodores in scoring in SEC games only with 13.5 points per game, and scored 20 or more points in four SEC games and tallied double figures in 14 total games. His 5.5 rebounds per game also tied for the eighth-most by a Vanderbilt freshman in a single season (Kevin Bright, 2013).

The Commodores begin their regular season on Wednesday night when they take on Southeast Missouri at Memorial Gym (7 p.m. CT, SEC Network Plus).
