NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 2015 National Champion Vanderbilt women’s tennis team returns to Nashville this weekend, hosting the annual June Stewart Invitational. Competition will feature four other institutions in Auburn, Indiana, Ole Miss and Wichita State.
Tournament play will take place Oct. 23rd -25th with teams taking the courts at 9:00 am CT every morning. Singles and doubles action will be played no-ad. In no-ad scoring, a competitor only has to win by one point. Therefore, when the score is 40-40 (Deuce), the next point wins the game. The winner of each singles match will be determined from the best of three sets.
While Friday’s action begins at 9:00 am, the Commodores will take the courts in competition since last season’s regionals no earlier then 11:30 for doubles, with singles following immediately after.
Admission for all tennis events is free to the public, with matches taking place at the Currey Tennis Center. For tournament updates and scores follow @VandyWTennis on Twitter.
