Vanderbilt lacrosse takes on Xavier in midweek matchup

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt lacrosse travels to Cincinnati for a midweek showdown with Xavier on Wednesday at 2 p.m. CT.

Vanderbilt (5-3, 0-1) dropped its conference opener last weekend at Temple in a 10-8 decision. The Commodores opened the game with four goals in the first quarter but the Owls responded with an 8-2 run to take over the lead heading into the final quarter. Transfer Molly Krestinski tallied her second hat trick of the season while Lexie de Roziere posted a career-high 13 saves.

Xavier (3-4, 0-0 BIG EAST) dropped its last game against Cincinnati, 20-1. Lola Mancuso scored for Xavier, recording the Musketeer’s lone goal. Kimaura Schindler collected a career-high four ground balls and was followed by Colby Wasson with three. Teegan Lannon secured a career- and season-high in the cage with 12 saves against the Bearcats.

This will be the first meeting between the teams. Xavier’s inaugural season was last spring, with the Musketeers going 4-10 overall and 0-6 in conference play.
