NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt’s Sawyer Hawks was named Second Team All-America and Connor Fennell was named Third Team All-America, the NCBWA announced Wednesday.
Hawks finished the 2025 campaign with a 4-0 record and a 1.60 ERA over 18 appearances. He held opposing hitters to a .167 average and totaled 59 strikeouts to 11 walks. This is his second All-America nod this season, also earning recognition from Perfect Game.
The senior was named Second Team All-SEC after finishing the regular season with the league’s lowest ERA among pitchers with at least six games played. He ranked sixth in the SEC in saves during the regular season. Five of his six saves came in SEC games.
Hawks was also honored as a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award. The recipient of the award will be announced on June 13.
Fennell was electric down the stretch for the Commodores and finished his sophomore season with a 6-0 record, two saves and a 2.53 ERA. Fennell totaled 84 strikeouts over 53.1 innings and walked just 11 batters. He held opposing hitters to a .174 average and his 14.2 strikeouts per nine innings ranked among the nation’s leaders in 2025.
In SEC games, Fennell led the league in opponent batting average at .178.
The right-hander was named Second Team All-Region by the ABCA earlier this week.
