NASHVILLE, Tenn. — For the second straight year, junior midfielder Molly Kinsella was named to ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-District IV team.
Kinsella, who completed her junior season on the field last month, posted a 3.86 grade point average entering the fall as a Medicine, Health and Society major.
“Molly is the perfect Vanderbilt student-athlete in my opinion,” said Vanderbilt head coach Ronnie Woodard. “She excels in the classroom as well as on the soccer field. She is extremely hard working and committed and is a diligent person and it shows in both her performance on the field and in the classroom.”
The Memphis, Tenn., native has reached the Dean’s List (3.5 grade point average or above) in all four semesters entering the fall and has also been named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll the last three years. She was the Vanderbilt Student Athlete of the Month in July of 2008 and has future plans of going to nursing school.
In addition to her accomplishments in the classroom, she has also excelled on the field as a three-time All-SEC selection and two-time all-region honoree. She has led the Commodores in scoring in each of her three seasons and is in the school’s career Top 10 list in goals (21- Tied for 9th) and career points (58- 10th).
