NASHVILLE, Tenn. — On Wednesday the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2024 ITA Division I Women’s Regional Award recipients. Commodore Célia-Belle Mohr was selected as the Ohio Valley ITA Player to Watch and is joined by winners of nine other ITA awards.
Other awards announced were Wilson ITA Coach of the Year, ITA Assistant Coach of the Year, Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship, ITA Cissie Leary Sportsmanship, ITA Most Improved Player, ITA Rookie of the Year, ITA Senior Player of the Year, ITA Community Service Award Winner and ITA Community Service Award honorable mention.
Mohr was also named a Division I Women’s Singles All-American and finished the season nationally ranked at No. 6. She advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championships, falling to Georgia’s Anastasiia Lopata to end her run. Primarily competing in the No. 1 position for Vanderbilt this season, Mohr accumulated 33 singles wins and defeated 16 nationally ranked opponents.
Mohr and partner Anessa Lee went 29-13 in doubles and finished No. 20 in the nation. Mohr and Lee had a successful run in the NCAA Doubles Championships, taking victories in the first, second and third rounds to advance to the semifinals. The Dores duo were taken down by Georgia’s Aysegul Mert and Dasha Vidmanova.
