Michigan tops Dores

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 10 Michigan bested the No. 18 Commodores in their match Friday night, beating Vanderbilt 4-3 in a hard-fought battle on the courts.

The Commodores won the doubles point, with Jackie Wu and Alex Leatu beating the No. 24 ranked pair of Emina Bektas and Brooke Bolender 8-6. Nelly Radeva and Lauren Mira clinched the point with an 8-6 win on their court.

The team couldn’t carry the momentum into singles, where the Wolverines won on courts one through four, with only Jackie Wu splitting sets. Wu, who faced Emina Bektas, forced a third set before Bektas fought back to win it 6-4.
