Dores kick off fall season by hosting the Commodore Scramble

NASHVILLE – The Commodores kick off their fall tournament season this Friday hosting the Commodore Scramble at the Currey Tennis Center. The tournament will begin Friday with the first serve at 9 a.m. and continue through Sunday afternoon.
 
Vanderbilt will be hosting Belmont, Furman, Lipscomb, Louisville and Tennessee Tech. The tournament will be conducted in a shotgun style featuring two singles draws of 16 players each and one doubles draw with 16 teams competing on Friday.
 
The Commodores will debut two true freshmen at the tournament in Marcus Ferreira and Jack Lee. 

Ferreira, from Hilton Head, S.C., was a blue-chip recruit, ranked 18thnationally and 2nd in the state of South Carolina. He holds a 35-10 record and is ready to continue his success at Vanderbilt beginning this Friday. Lee is joining the Commodores from Coral Gables, Fla. He was a four-star recruit, ranked in the top 100 in the junior U.S. competitor. Lee made it to the fourth round of Kalamazoo and was ranked in the top-10 in the state of Florida. 
 
The Commodore Scramble will feature nine returning Vanderbilt student-athletes who come off of a successful 19-9 2018 season.
