The Vanderbilt Commodores will play their first game of the new year, and their only game on a Sunday this season, when they take on the Davidson Wildcats Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. CT. The game can be heard on the Vanderbilt Sports Network from IMG College and vucommodores.com.
There will be no television for the game, but a live stream of the game can be seen on vucommodores.com as a part of the All-Access package.
Series Info: Vanderbilt leads the all-time series, 2-1; VU leads 2-0 in games played in Nashville; Davidson leads 1-0 in games played at Davidson.
Last Meeting: Vanderbilt defeated Davidson, 78-69, on December 27, 1985, in the Music City Invitational at Memorial Gym.

About Davidson
Davidson is 7-5 on the 2010-11 season after defeating St. Joseph’s of Maine, 108-39, on Thursday night at home.
Chris Czerapowicz leads the Wildcats in scoring with 15.0 points per game. Jake Cohen (14.9), JP Kuhlman (12.6), and Brendan McKillop (11.3) also average double-digits for Davidson. Cohen leads Davidson on the glass, averaging 6.6 rebounds per contest.
The Davidson Series
Vanderbilt will meet Davidson for the fourth time on Sunday afternoon, with the Commodores holding a 2-1 overall edge in the series.
The last meeting between the two schools came on December 27, 1985, in the Music City Invitational at Memorial Gym. Vanderbilt won that meeting, 78-69. Vanderbilt is 2-0 all-time in games played at Memorial Gym in the series, and 0-1 in games played at Davidson.
Sunday’s game with Davidson is the first game of a home-and-home series with the Wildcats. Vanderbilt will play in Charlotte next season.

Vanderbilt is 41-6 all-time against members of the Southern Conference…VU is 1-0 against the league in 2010-11 – The Commodores knocked off Appalachian State at Memorial Gym, 86-73, on November 27.
Commodores Back To Full Strength
Vanderbilt welcomes back its full complement of players when junior forward Lance Goulbourne returns from an NCAA two-game suspension against Davidson.
Junior forward Andre Walker, who returned to the lineup against Marquette on Wednesday, missed the previous four games with mononucleosis.
Taylor 18 Points From 1,000-point Club
Junior forward Jeffery Taylor is 18 points away from becoming Vanderbilt’s 41st player to reach 1,000 points. Taylor, who has started in every game of his career, is averaging 13.9 points per game this season.
Vanderbilt-Marquette Tidbits
Junior forward Jeffery Taylor led five players in double-figures with 19 points as Vanderbilt edged Marquette, 77-76, on December 29. The Commodores made the winning basket on an Andre Walker layup with 4.1 seconds to go in regulation, and withstood a last second opportunity from Marquette to come away with the victory.
– Vanderbilt is now 3-2 all-time against Marquette, including a 1-1 mark in Nashville.
– Five players scored in double-figures: Jeffery Taylor led the Commodores with 19 points, Brad Tinsley scored 15, John Jenkins had 13, Festus Ezeli scored 12 and Steve Tcheingang added 10. The last time Vanderbilt had five players score in double-figures was at Arkansas on Feb. 27, 2010
– The Commodores trailed at halftime for the fifth time this season. VU is 3-2 on the season when trailing at the half.
– VU went on a 12-0 run in the early minutes of the second half to go from trailing by seven to leading by 5 points.
– Jeffery Taylor made a three-point basket at the 14:39 mark of the first half, which extended Vanderbilt’s consecutive games streak with a three-pointer to 774 games.
– Vanderbilt was 6-for-23 from beyond the arc, while Marquette was 5-for-14. VU has made more threes than all but one of their 2010-11 opponents (Belmont).

Player notes:
– Jeffery Taylor led all Vanderbilt scorers with 19 points. He tied a season-high with two blocks and two steals.
– Steve Tchiengang grabbed a season-high nine rebounds, one short of a double-double. He scored 10 points on the night. Wednesday was also his birthday.
– After missing four games due to mononucleosis, Andre Walker grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and had five assists.
– Walker scored the game-winning layup with 4 seconds remaining, assisted by Brad Tinsley.
– Tinsley had eight assists and just one turnover.
– Festus Ezeli scored in double figures for the ninth time this season and 14th time in his career.
VU Wins 700 At Memorial Gym
The Commodores got their 700th win at Memorial Gym with the win over Belmont on December 4. VU has posted a 702-188 (.789) all-time record at the 59-year old facility. Memorial Gym is the oldest basketball building in use in the Southeastern Conference. Vanderbilt has won 19 consecutive non-conference games at Memorial, with its last loss coming against UIC on December 3, 2008.
