Mike Mancini named All-SEC, All-Defense

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mike Mancini was named to the All-SEC Second Team and All-Defensive Team, the league announced Monday.

Mancini is one of only two SEC players this spring with 15 or more home runs and 15 or more stolen bases. The other, Georgia’s Daniel Jackson, was named the SEC Player of the Year.

The senior leads the team in home runs with 15 including nine against SEC opponents. He also leads the Commodores in walks and stolen bases. He owns a 1.043 OPS and has a team-high 13 multi-RBI games. Mancini carries an eight-game hit streak into the conference tournament.

He is the first Commodore since Jeren Kendall in 2017 with 15 or more home runs and 15 or more stolen bases.

Vanderbilt faces Kentucky on Tuesday in the opening round of the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama.
