Lim Earns SEC Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Senior Lynn Lim becomes second Commodore Scholar-Athlete in program history

BELLEAIR, Fla. – Vanderbilt senior Lynn Lim was named the SEC Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced on Sunday. Lim is the second Commodore women’s golfer to ever receive the prestigious award.

A political science major, Lim owns a 3.965 GPA and has never recorded a grade below A-minus in any course over her four years at Vanderbilt. Lim is a three-time WGCA Academic All-American and will earn her fourth honor in the coming weeks. She has also received Dean’s List recognition in every semester during her time at Vandy.

“I’m so happy Lynn was voted the Scholar-Athlete of the Year,” head coach Greg Allen said. “I’m definitely bias but I think our Vanderbilt kids deserve that award each year. Like most everything she does, Lynn takes her academics very seriously. There is not another young lady more deserving than Lynn Lim. I’m super proud of her!”

On the course, Lim has put together one of the best careers in Commodore history. As a freshman in 2023, she became just the second Dore in program history to earn SEC Freshman of the Year honors.

This season, Lim has put together a 72-stroke average with five top 25 finishes. She set the Vanderbilt school record with a round of 9-under-par 63 to open the Clemson Invitational. Lim went on to earn co-medalist honors, marking her first career win in the collegiate ranks.

Lim joins Kate Sborov as the only Commodores to earn SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Sborov was the 2017 honoree.

Lim is set to graduate magna cum laude this spring and will join Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight LLP in Washington, D.C., before attending law school.
