GREENVILLE, S.C. — Aneesa Lee and the doubles team of Holly Staff and Marcella Cruz advanced to the semifinals of the Debbie Southern Fall Classic for the Vanderbilt women’s tennis team Friday in Greenville, South Carolina.
Lee defeated Clemson’s Eleni Louka, who was ranked No. 72 in the preseason ITA rankings, in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, and will take on Malaika Rapolu of Texas on Saturday.
Ranked ninth in the ITA preseason rankings, the duo of Staff and Cruz knocked off 38th-ranked sisters Carolyn and Anna Campana of Wake Forest, 6-3.
When Vanderbilt returns from Greenville, the Commodores will host their annual June Stewart Invitational, Oct. 8-10, at the Currey Tennis Center.
