Giveaways planned for Thanksgiving Tourney

Nov. 20, 2009

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Six exciting Commodore women’s basketball giveaways will be a part of next weekend’s Thanksgiving Tournament, Vanderbilt officials announced Friday.

Admission to all four games of the tournament is free. The event tips off with Vanderbilt against Austin Peay at 2 p.m. Friday, November 27, followed by North Carolina State versus Northwestern State. The consolation game on Saturday, November 28, will begin at 2 p.m., with the championship game to follow.

All fans in attendance will have the chance to register for one of six exciting prizes, ranging from tickets for the Commodores’ postseason banquet to a number of unique behind-the-scenes experiences.

“We are pleased to offer these one-of-a-kind giveaways at this year’s Thanksgiving Tournament,” Director of Marketing Steve Walsh said. “Adding these promotions to an already free event is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our loyal fan following while also providing an incentive to those who may not have experienced a Commodore women’s basketball game before.”

Winners must be in attendance to claim their prize, with drawings occurring during Vanderbilt games once per half and at halftime.

The complete list of giveaways includes:
