• Vanderbilt returns home for the final two games of the 2022 campaign. The Commodores will first welcome Florida to FirstBank Stadium this weekend.
• Vandy snapped a 26-game losing streak in SEC contests with a 24-21 road win at Kentucky. The victory marked the first career SEC win for head coach Clark Lea.
• Junior quarterback Mike Wright was named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts against Kentucky. Wright finished 12-of-23 for 184 passing yards, while adding 126 rushing yards and one score on the ground. He engineered a game-winning drive with four minutes left, resulting in a go-ahead touchdown pass to Will Sheppard with 32 seconds remaining in the game.
• Senior running back Ray Davis eclipsed the 100-yard mark rushing for the fourth time this season against Kentucky. He rushed for a 129 yards on 26 carries, averaging 5.0 yards per carry. Davis has totaled 860 yards on the ground this season, ranking fourth in the SEC.
• With their performances against the Wildcats, Ray Davis (129) and Mike Wright (126) became the first Vanderbilt duo to rush for 100 yards each in a SEC game since Kwane Doster and Norval McKenzie (101) both surpassed the 100-yard rushing mark against Ole Miss in 2002.
• The Commodores finished with 264 rushing yards against Kentucky, marking their most rushing yards against an SEC foe since totaling 281 yards against Mississippi State on Sept. 17, 2011.
• Sophomore CJ Taylor posted a strong performance at Kentucky. The second-year safety tallied a team-high six tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss and his first career sack. Taylor also registered his first career interception on the final drive of the game to seal the victory for Vanderbilt.
• The Dores have scored three defensive touchdowns this year, which ranks first in the SEC and ties for sixth in the FBS. CJ Taylor has recorded two of Vandy’s three defensive scores this season, with fumble returns against both Hawai’i and Missouri.
• Senior linebacker Anfernee Orji recorded a strong performance against the Tigers. He racked up a team-high tying 12 tackles, while recording 2.5 tackles for loss including 1.0 sack and a forced fumble. The Rockwall, Texas, native also registered his first career interception in the matchup.
• The Commodores chose eight team captains for the 2022 campaign: Ethan Barr, Ben Bresnahan, Daevion Davis, Jaylen Mahoney, Elijah McAllister, Anfernee Orji, Gavin Schoenwald and Mike Wright. The captains were chosen by a vote of players and staff. Davis and McAllister serve as captains for the second consecutive year.
