Findel-Hawkins Named Associate Head Coach

Women's tennis promotes Jack Findel-Hawkins ahead of spring season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team announced the promotion of assistant coach Jack Findel-Hawkins to associate head coach on Tuesday.

“We are excited to elevate Jack to associate head coach on our women’s tennis staff,” head coach Aleke Tsoubanos said. “He has done an outstanding job altogether, from working with our players on the court, to recruitment, to adding off-court pieces that enhance our team’s performance. Jack’s work ethic and passion for developing our athletes is obvious to anyone who is around him on a daily basis.”

Findel-Hawkins joined the program in July 2023 after serving as an assistant coach at Memphis for two seasons. The Tigers went 29-16 during his time there, securing multiple ranked wins and an NCAA Tournament berth in both years. Prior to coaching at Memphis, Findel-Hawkins played collegiately at North Florida, where he earned All-America honors and reached as high as No. 2 in the ITA doubles rankings. Findel-Hawkins was named Freshman of the Year in 2014 and went on to earn Atlantic Sun Player of the Year after his junior and senior seasons.

“I’m honored to have been promoted to associate head coach,” Findel-Hawkins said. “When I first arrived at Vanderbilt, I instantly felt at home. Every day I am surrounded by amazing coaches, student-athletes, and support staff. This group is working incredibly hard to create more championship-winning moments at a program that has already been very successful over the years.”

The Commodores went 14-11 in dual matches last year in Findel-Hawkins’ first season with the program, including an 8-2 record at home. Vanderbilt clinched a spot in the NCAA Tournament, downing Wake Forest and No. 12 seed Ohio State before falling to No. 5 seed Virginia in the super regional.

“These are exciting times not just for our program but for all of Vanderbilt athletics, and I feel very proud to be a part of it,” Findel-Hawkins said. “I also want to thank Aleke for giving me this opportunity. She has been a constant source of support and encouragement, and I am grateful to work alongside her.”

Vanderbilt is just over three weeks away from returning to competition, with the Miami Spring Invite from Jan. 10-12 set to begin the spring season. The Dores’ home opener is scheduled for Jan. 19 with matches against SMU and Western Kentucky.
