NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 11 ranked Vanderbilt women’s team looks to add another signature win to its 2026 campaign in a top-15 matchup with No. 9 Oklahoma at the Lummis Family Tennis Center on Thursday.
The Commodores picked up their seventh win in the last eight matches after generating consecutive road victories over No. 12 Tennessee and Kentucky. No. 11 Vanderbilt (18-5, 8-3 SEC) faces a tall task in its final homestand of the regular season as the black and gold host a No. 9 Oklahoma (19-4, 9-2 SEC) team on a nine-match streak. The winning stretch for the Sooners is the longest active run in the SEC. Oklahoma is coming off a 4-1 takedown of No. 1 Georgia on March 29 in Norman, which is just the second time all season the Bulldogs have been held to a single point or less. The all-time series between the Dores and Sooners is split at two apiece entering Thursday; Oklahoma brought home a 4-2 win in last season’s matchup from Norman.
Plenty of Commodores remained in the updated ITA individual rankings released Tuesday. Graduate Célia-Belle Mohr and sophomore Sophia Webster continue to lead the way in the doubles rankings for Vandy at No. 5, followed by No. 19 junior Valeria Ray and senior Bridget Stammel. Stammel vaulted up the singles rankings after notching wins over Ole Miss’ No. 15 Emily Welker and No. 59 Katrina Scott of Tennessee; the senior moved from No. 33 to No. 14, besting her previous mark of No. 23 set on Feb. 8, 2024. Mohr sits just behind at No. 24 and Ray maintains her spot as the 25th ranked singles player. Freshman Mia Yamakita rounds out the Commodores in the singles list at No. 116.
Evialina Laskevich is atop the rankings for the Sooners at No. 10 and is joined by No. 45 Edda Mamedova and No. 60 Julia Garcia Ruiz. Oklahoma brings in the top-ranked doubles pair to Nashville, comprised of Roisin Gilheany and Gloriana Nahum. The two have already faced No. 5 Mohr and Webster this season at the NCAA Doubles Championship in Orlando, with the Commodore duo getting the best of that matchup 6-3, 6-2. Laskevich and Mamedova come in at No. 17 as a doubles pair. Garcia Ruiz and Oyinlomo Quadre finish off the list of Sooners ranked in doubles play at No. 61.
Thursday’s matchup marks the ninth top-15 SEC opponent Vanderbilt has faced this year and its 10th ranked foe in total. The Commodores are 4-5 in ranked contests this season, posting a 2-2 clip in such matches at home. Oklahoma is 5-3 in top-25 battles, but just one of those victories have come on the road.
No. 11 Vanderbilt and No. 9 Oklahoma are set to square off at the Lummis Tennis Center on Thursday with first serve at 5 p.m. Live streaming is available online with live stats accessible here.
