Commodores to play two fall exhibitions

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt will take part in exhibition contests this fall against North Carolina and Richmond as part of the Commodores’ fall baseball schedule announced Monday by head coach Tim Corbin.

The neutral-site matchups will take place Oct. 15-16 in North Carolina. Game one against North Carolina will take place in Chapel Hill at Boshamer Stadium while game two against Richmond will be hosted in Cary at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Vanderbilt begins its “Road To Omaha” Sept. 16 when the Commodores officially open fall training. Full-squad training sessions will take place during the week and will be open to the public beginning Sept. 17.

Entry to Hawkins Field will be via the visitor bullpen gate located off of Jess Neely Drive. The gate will be open each day at approximately 4 p.m. This is subject to change at the discretion of baseball staff and University personnel.

Updated scrimmage times will be posted as they become available on the program’s Twitter account @VandyBoys.

The team will conclude the fall with the annual Black and Gold Series tentatively scheduled for Oct. 22-24 with an if necessary game set for Oct. 26.
