Falk Falls In Round of 16 Singles 5/25/2005 ATHENS, Ga. – Senior Audra Falk was knocked out of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Singles Championships Wednesday during Round of 16 play at the Henry Feild Tennis Complex. Kentucky’s Aibika Kalsarieva advanced to the quarterfinals by winning a pair of tiebreakers, 7-3 and 8-6, to defeat VU’s two-time All-American. Kalsarieva will face Florida’s Jennifer Magley on Thursday, guaranteeing the Southeastern Conference one participant in the semifinal round. Falk concludes the 2005 spring season with a 20-9 singles record. The Cincinnati native was VU’s final entry in this year’s NCAA Tournament. Sophomore Amanda Fish and freshman Taka Bertrand competed earlier in singles action, while Falk also teamed up with freshman Amanda Taylor in the doubles draw. |
