Eight Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Distinction

Women's tennis brings home All-Academic Team honors, eight awarded individually

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis program received All-Academic Team honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and eight individuals were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced on Monday.

Senior Amy Stevens, juniors Naomi Katz, Sonya Macavei and Bridget Stammel, sophomore Valeria Ray, and freshmen Jayden Jagolinzer, Trinetra Vijayakumar and Sophia Webster were all named 2025 scholar-athletes by the ITA. It is the most scholar-athletes for Vandy since the ITA began designating academic awards. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must boast a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the current academic year.

In 2025, 1,462 Division 1 women’s student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 222 women’s tennis programs were awarded with All-Academic Team distinction.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
