Las Vegas — Vanderbilt bowlers Josie Earnest and Brittni Hamilton finished eighth and tenth respectively at the USA Team Trials as the four day event concluded today.
Both Commodores were top 10 fixtures throughout the grueling tournament, which will help decide members of the USA international team. The top three finishers earned automatic spots on the coveted squad.
Earnest, the 2008 NCAA Player of the Year, averaged 210.22 over the week to finish 391 pins behind wire-to-wire winner Liz Johnson. Hamilton, a freshman, averaged 208.17 on the tricky lanes and against professionals much older and experienced.
Amanda Halter, a VU sophomore, was 38th with a solid 186.53.
