NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Stephanie Amack and Simone Charley added another accolade to their growing list of accomplishments as the United Soccer Coaches named each to one of the three All-Southeast Region teams. Amack was selected to the first team while Charley was named to the second team.

“I am delighted for both girls to get the recognition, they deserve it,” said head coach Darren Ambrose. “It is a nice statement for our program on the quality of players that we have. They are two of the leaders that had a big impact on the success we had this season and it is nice to see them get recognized on a national level.”

Stephanie Amack had a stellar season for the Commodores as a graduate transfer from Stanford. She made an immediate impact on the field and helped stabilize the Commodore defense when she made the move to center back from midfield.

The Dores tallied seven shutouts on the year, including four against SEC competition. Amack was a workhorse on the back line as she started all 22 games and played every minute in 19 of those games. She also led the Commodores in scoring with five goals on the year, including three game-winners.

Two of her five goals came in the postseason against ranked teams. The first was a penalty kick in the 50th minute against No. 19 Tennessee in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals. It was the only goal of the match and helped the Commodores beat their in-state rivals for the second time this season.

The second goal came in the 89th minute on the road against 14th-ranked and No. 4 national seed Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament. She scored on the late corner to give the Commodores the 2-1 win and their first NCAA Tournament victory in 19 years.

Simone Charley returned to the pitch after redshirting last season and picked up right where she left off. Charley was a force on the offensive end, not only scoring at a high rate, but also distributing as well.

She led the team in assists (6) and points (14) and was second in goals (4). Three of her goals were game-winners against Boston College, UMass and Missouri. Charley tallied a career-high four points against the Tigers as she assisted on two of the Commodores goals in the first half and scored the game-winner in the second half. She also assisted on Rebecca Rossett‘s game-winner against Georgia and Leila Azari‘s game-winner against Kentucky.

As her career comes to a close, Charley will see her name in the Commodore record book in multiple categories. Her career marks in goals (25), assists (18), and points (68) all fall in the top-10 all-time in Vanderbilt history.
