Dores Welcome 10 Freshmen

The recruiting class hails from seven different states

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt lacrosse head coach Beth Hewitt announced Tuesday the 2024-25 signing class comprising 10 new Commodores.

Zawadi Brown | Midfield/Defense | Naperville, Ill.

“Zawadi is one of the best athletes we have ever recruited to Vanderbilt,” said Hewitt. “Her speed is second to none and her energy is contagious. Z will push everyone around her to be better and will raise our level of athleticism as soon as she steps foot on campus. She has incredible agility, body control, and defensive positioning. Combine that with her ability to take on anyone one-on-one in the cage and it is an awesome combination that I can’t wait to keep watching.”

Grace Hasselback | Midfield | Nashville, Tenn.

“Grace is an athletic and versatile midfielder who is dynamic on the draw and is an all-around competitor,” said associate head coach Jill Kendall. “She embodies everything we want our athletes to be, with a refuse-to-lose mentality and an extremely competitive nature. She is an experienced midfielder with a wealth of knowledge and expertise.”

Izzy Hughes | Midfield | Winter Park, Fla.

“Izzy is an all-around complete player,” said Hewitt. “She is athletic and technical and can impact all facets of the game. Not only is she an incredibly strong offensive midfielder, but she also has a very rugged defensive element to her game. In addition, Izzy is a contributor in the draw circle and will impact the number of possessions that our offensive unit gets.”

Jiselle Jenkins | Midfield/Defense | Chevy Chase, Md.

“Jiselle is an all-around leader who is going to take Vanderbilt by storm,” Kendall said. “She is a remarkable midfielder who can be a shutdown defender. Jiselle isn’t afraid of a challenge, but always has a smile on her face while doing it. She will be poised to take on a significant role on the defensive end while always working to make a big impact offensively as well.”

Bailey Lower | Attack | Nantucket, Mass.

“Bailey is a powerful attacker with extremely dynamic footwork around the cage,” Hewitt said. “She has an incredible stick and a nose for the cage that you don’t see every day.  When you combine her talent with her work ethic to be the best, that is a special combination.  Bailey is primed to have a very special career.”

Emme Martin | Goalie | Monkton, Md.

“Emme is one of the most talented goalies in the 2025 recruiting class,” said Kendall. “She has a work ethic that is second to none, and she is ready to compete at the highest level. Her technical skills are impeccable, and her hand quickness is some of the best we have seen in years. Emme will be a force to be reckoned with over the next four years.”

Alexi Nowakowski | Midfield | Lewes, Del.

“Lexi is a strong, aggressive midfielder who will impact both sides of the ball,” said Hewitt. “She has the strength of a veteran player, which will be felt immediately when she hits the field. Whether she is scoring goals or stopping a strong attacking threat on defense, Lexi is poised to take on some of the best talent in the country.”

Shea Panzik | Attack | Manhasset, N.Y.

“Shea is an accomplished attacker who has been battle-tested playing in one of the hotbeds of women’s lacrosse on Long Island,” Kendall said. “She is a high-energy, high-octane attacker who believes she can beat anyone she goes up against. Shea is already competing like she is playing Division I lacrosse and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the black and gold.”

Kiera Runske | Midfield | Satellite Beach, Fla.

“Kiera is an athlete in the truest sense of the word, she loves to compete and works tirelessly to be at her best,” said Hewitt. “Kiera’s impact in the midfield is tremendous, and her ability to hunt 50/50 balls and finish on the offensive end is spectacular. Her relentlessness and coachability make her a huge asset on each end of the field. We could not be more excited to see all she accomplished; the sky is truly her limit.”

Anna Szporn | Attack | Morristown, N.J.

“Anna is a true threat across the field and has the ability to change any game she’s in,” said Kendall. “Her stick work is incredible and her lacrosse IQ is off the charts. She makes everyone on offense a threat. Her fearless and calm demeanor will no doubt make our offense even stronger from the second she steps on campus.”
