Vandy fell at Coastal Carolina in a 17-13 decision on April 12. The Commodores played a back-and-forth first quarter, ending the period with three straight goals to go up 7-5.

Although the Commodores took a three-goal lead into halftime, the offense stalled in the second half and the Chanticleers outscored Vanderbilt 9-2 in the final 30 minutes. Eight Dores scored on the day with a pair of goals each from Molly Finlay, Paige Finneran, Bri Gross, Kayla Rieu and Josie Ward.

The Gator Report

Saturday’s matchup will be Vanderbilt’s second consecutive conference game against a top-10 opponent. Florida is currently 11-3 overall and 3-1 in American Athletic Conference play, placing the Gators in second place behind James Madison with two conference games to play (JMU won the head-to-head, 14-9, in March).

Florida has one of the strongest offenses in the conference, leading single-game stats in goals, points, and draw controls. The solid defense is also second in the AAC in saves and shots per game as well as save percentage.
