CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In the second day of the Kitty Harrison Invitational, the Commodores swept Pepperdine in doubles play and took two out of three doubles matches from Virginia.
The duos of Rachael Dillon and Alex Leatu and juniors Jackie Wu and Chelsea Preeg tallied two victories in doubles play Saturday morning. The Commodores only defeat in doubles came at the hands of the 28th ranked pair in Virginia’s Tomljanovic and Fraser, who knocked off Erica Robertson and Lauren Mira, 8-3.
In singles action, Wu and Nelly Radeva tallied victories over Virginia. Wu defeated Hana Tomljanovic, 6-4, 6-3; while Radeva picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win over Marjorie Baker.
On Sunday, Vanderbilt will face UNC in doubles play before taking on Texas A&M in singles matches.
