VUCommodores.com: Two former Commodores heard their names called in the 2017 NFL Draft. Inside linebacker Zach Cunningham, a consensus All-American last season, went 57th overall to the Houston Texans. Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals selected VU offensive lineman Will Holden with the 157th overall pick in the fifth round.

Baseball America: Michael Lananna offers a detail profile of Vanderbilt baseball star Jeren Kendell, touching on Kendall’s unique personality along the way. Writes Lananna: “There’s an ease to Kendall’s game; if he’s going right, he’s the most dynamic player on the field.” Read here.

Vanderbilt Track & Field’s trip to SEC Relays in Baton Rouge, La. featured a pair of personal-best times for two Commodores. Junior Megan Huebner and freshman Kendall Derry starred in the 1500-meter run, with Huebner finishing seventh overall with a time of 4:33.80 and Derry posting a time of 4:34.72, good for 11th place.

Edward Aschoff lists Vanderbilt offensive lineman Will Holden as an “NFL draft sleeper” from the 2017 draft class. “A lot of people didn’t know much about Holden before or probably even after the draft,” Aschoff writes. “But at 6-foot-7 and change, Holden should garner a lot of immediate attention from his Arizona Cardinals teammates.” Read here.

Former Vanderbilt running back Zac Stacy threw out first pitch during the Dores’ Tuesday night matchup with Austin Peay. Afterward, Stacy posted a tweet that implied he might have a lingering itch for baseball.

NCAA: Vanderbilt men’s golf earned a No. 1 seed at the 12-team College Grove, Tenn. Regional that takes place May 15-17. Meanwhile, head coach Scott Limbaugh earned SEC Coach of the Year as the Commodores cleaned up with SEC postseason awards.

NCAA: On the heels of the SEC regular-season and tournament championship, Vanderbilt women’s tennis earned the No. 4 overall seed in the NCAA tournament. The Dores host Clemson, Washington and SIU Edwardsville in Nashville for the first two rounds on May 12 and 13.
